One down and one to go!
Bill's cataract surgery went well today.
His appointment was at 10:10 am this morning. They were waiting for us.
Right on time the fine folks at the Delaware Eye Institute Surgery Center escorted Bill through the double swing doors back to the surgery unit.
I was told that the total procedure would take about an hour and a half.
Since I had no desire to sit in the waiting room for an hour and a half scrolling through my iPhone reading about the latest outrages by Trump, I decided to visit the nearby Walmart. Always an adventure to see Walmart People. And folks, I wasn't disappointed.
I returned to the waiting room after my Walmart excursion. Bill was ready.
They told me to go back into the surgery center. There was Bill on the gurney. He had a patch on his right eye. He was woozy but he said 'That was fun!'
Turns out they knock you out when they do surgery. And here I thought they did it while you were awake. Wow, that is a relief. I have cataract surgery in my future and that was something I was dreading, keeping my eye open while they cut it.
Bill had to sign some release forms.

I was given post op instructions. They put Bill in a wheel chair and asked me to bring my car around to the front of the building. They would wheel Bill out.
Everything went well folks. Thanks goodness! I was fearing another roadblock or delay.
Tomorrow we have an appointment at 8:20 am for a followup then another appointment this time next week for another followup.
Then if everything goes all right we do it all over again with the left eye.
Progress folks, progress!
